Woah! Beijing was SO MUCH FUN! I got there in 2005 and immediately got playing in Tag Team records crazy-as-they-come band the Submissionaries who managed to stay together for a few months before self-destructing. After that I got a session seat at wizkid Joewi Verhoeven’s band Arrows Made of Desire which lasted for two years, and then I continued helping out bands like Casino Demon and Wang Wei while founding the pop-rock band Winter Wars. My last year in town saw me behind the drums of my fave band from this time - Johnny Wadd, our EP for Shazza Records was even mastered by Pink Floyd’s engineer! Wuzzaaap!

All in all it is impossible not to love Beijing - you get to play in great bands, in front of a lot of people and the scene is both small and very very intense. Loved it.

Since there was so much band action I did not have time to write anything as Patch apart from a few songs and a disastrous one-man-show at 2 Kolegas. Ah, those were the days...

Oh, and check out the links section for the best places to hang out and/or play in Beijing!
