Grethe Gerhardsson did a few songs with me in 2006, dubbed The Boy and his Moon. It was performed once in Beijing with me on vocals and guitar - help!
Intro | Now I see the Light | Every Day is another Step away from You | I Toast the Dead (for Daniel Strand and Sean Newman)
Finally, the first time I found a cappella tracks in 2007 I had to do some Reason work with them. One track was asked for by a Beijing friend, and features a well known Chinese song
Intro | Cassie You and Me | Amerie One Thing | Traditional Chinese + House
Above you’ll find some odd pieces of music that I have written together with friends via email or in real life. It is really interesting to collaborate in this fashion - you send off your edit and then walk around in anticipation to see what will come back from the other side of the world. Exciting and often surprising stuff!
In many ways this is how Patch started, with my old time friend Mats Attnäs going off to Canada and me staying in Sweden while we did songs for “the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture zone” (named after the place on the Atlantic Ocean shelf exactly in-between our mutual homes). Although the “directness” of drumming in bands is fantastic I sometimes miss the slow grind of making songs this way.
